Chuck, most of the West End & Trolley Square parts of Wilmington (DE) have granite curbs, *BUT*, that curbing at intersections has largely been removed as the city has aggressively moved to make ever intersection handicapped-accessible. This means sloped curbs that incline from flush to street level up to sidewalk level. It necessitated the removal of the granite. The granite curbing still is alive, though, between intersections. Gotta admit, it's great curb material because it doesn't erode or degrade on any kind of schedule like concrete & asphalt. I believe much of the granite in Wilmington dates back to the 1920s.
