Both seem to be overplanted in Florida:

Yes, casuarina is the far more invasive species: They seem to overtake a lot of areas esp closer to the coast in much of Florida. From what they say, there are even burning large stands in some counties to get rid of them. They are now even naturalized in the Bahamas and Bermuda.

As far as araucaria heterophylla...I guess I assumed they were in the same family, as they seem to be the only other pine (or pine like) tree you see planted in much of Florida. I guess they are the true pine. Still, while they are not nearly as invasive as casuarina, they do seem overplanted in Florida these days. It seems not only many home landscapes have them, but even commercial landscapes use them as well. I actually think they more handsome then casuarina as they don't get as large and have neat appearance.
