Normally I refuse to protect anything.
However, given that Yucca aloifolia is not a massive plant, I think I will likely cover whenever I see temps of below 5 to 8 F (happens once or twice here for a few hrs each winter).
Keep in mind, my coastal location has annual lows likely not too different than coastal southern New Jersey, where there are some aloifolia growing here and there. Given that, the fact that no snow or rain in winter can ever fall on it, and it's protected south side microclimate... I think it might do OK.
