Frost is happening sooner in Fall and Earlier in Autumn in the South

Message from Tom in Philadelphia

From 1985 to 2015 the avg first frost was Nov 25th and the last was March 4th.

Since 2010 to 2015 the avg first frost is Nov 18th, and the last March 10th.

That is definitely a trend of a shorter growing season at work. Will the trend reverse itself? The GFS model and the NWS blend of models is calling for freezing temps in both Charleston and Mobile AL on the 23rd. So, that would be closer to Nov 25th. What was needed though was an early December date which would nudge the average back closer to the longer term date.

I don't care what anybody says, we have gotten colder and colder since 2010 in the east while the PNW gets warmer an warmer. 2012 was just a fluke looking back now.
