Hello David,
Teneriffe is a very beautiful place to life, it is very exotic. It is located more near at Africa than at Europe. But in Europe it has many other countries in which exotic plants grow, some also in Germany.
This is a photo from my garden here in Brunswiek - Lower Saxonia - Germany.

P.S. In 2003 we`ve been in Ohau - Hawaii, the aunt of my woman lives there, it`s a very nice place to be!!!
